TikTok Expands Research API & Launches Ads Transparency Library

 TikTok recently improved the transparency of their ads, and we're excited to share the latest enhancements. This includes the expanded Research API in Europe and the introduction of the much-anticipated "Commercial Content Library." These innovative tools provide marketers with unmatched insights into their campaigns, enabling precise targeting, improved performance assessment, and maximum return on investment.

TikTok is broadening the availability of its Research API in Europe, facilitating the examination of content and activities on the platform by researchers. Initially introduced for academic researchers in the United States, the Research API has garnered over 60 applications from US nonprofit academics exploring topics such as consumer trends, misinformation, and mental health.

Now, TikTok is expanding this access to researchers throughout Europe, encompassing the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. This extension allows up to 10 researchers to collaborate on joint research projects, promoting teamwork and a more comprehensive exploration of the platform's impact.

TikTok's goal is to enhance ads transparency and accountability by subjecting its platform to external scrutiny. This move ensures that researchers have access to essential data, facilitating in-depth and meaningful investigations into various social media-related issues.
